Introduction to Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus is a genus of large theropoderms dinosaur, which lived in what is now North Africa during the Upper Albian to Lower Cenomanian Cretaceous period, about 112 to 97 million years ago. It was known for its huge, sail-like structures on its back and its long, crocodile-like jaws with conical teeth. Due to its large size, webbed feet, and more fish-based diet compared to other carnivorous dinosaurs, Spinosaurus has been classified as semiaquatic. Its main prey was probably fish, which it could catch while swimming or standing in shallow water. Spinosaurus was one of the largest predatory dinosaurs ever discovered, reaching 15-18 meters in length and weighing around 6-7 tons.
